  21. This is not a 32-bit version of ClipMate, but it will run fine 
  22. under Windows 95.  We expect to ship a 32-bit version Q1 '96.

  26. System Requirements:
  27. --------------------
  28. Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT.
  29. VGA or better display.  Monchrome vga is ok.
  30. Mouse or other pointing device.

  32. To install ClipMate, just run the accompanying
  33. SETUP program from the Program Manager.
  34. (ex: FILE|RUN A: SETUP)
  35.  
  36. The setup program does not require seperate install/target 
  37. directories, meaning that if you've un-zipped the files into
  38. the directory that you want to run from, you can still run the
  39. setup to install the software - it will just skip the copy step.
  40.  
  41. It is strongly recommended that ClipMate be placed in its own 
  42. directory (i.e. C:\CLIPMATE).
  43.  
  44. When the Setup program runs, it will create a ClipMate group
  45. with the ClipMate icon, and icons for documentation.  If you 
  46. decide to move the ClipMate icon to another group, such as the
  47. STARTUP group, you can delete the ClipMate group.
  48.  
  49. NOTE:  ClipMate doesn't alter ANY of your system files.
  50. It creates NO hidden files, puts NO DLLs or VBXs in your
  51. \windows\system directory, and is basically a CLEAN APPLICATION.
  52. ClipMate is EASY to get rid of, if you decide that it doesn't meet
  53. your needs.

  55. You are encouraged to place ClipMate in your Startup Group,
  56. and to assign a hot-key to it.  The hot-key must be done
  57. through the Program Manager, but the group can be changed
  58. during installation.

  60. To assign a hot key (after installation), just click once 
  61. on the icon, and select File|Properties from the Program 
  62. Manager's File Menu.  In the Hotkey field, press a 
  63. key-combination, such as Ctrl+Alt+C.

  121. De-Installation Notes:
  122. ----------------------
  123. These instructions are included in the event that you determine that
  124. ClipMate does not meet your needs, and therefore should be removed
  125. from your system. 
  126.  
  127. Before deleting ClipMate, you should review the contents of 
  128. the QuickStart screen in the on-line help.  If you have put ClipMate through
  129. a proper evaluation, then everything on that screen should be familiar to
  130. you.  If this is not the case, then you may want to spend some more time 
  131. evaluating ClipMate.  
  132.  
  133. In the event that you wish to remove ClipMate from your system, 
  134. erase the \windows\clipmate.ini file, as well as all files in the
  135. \clipmate directory (or wherever you put ClipMate), and the
  136. \clipmate\data directory.  
  137. Then remove the ClipMate group from the Program Manager, as well 
  138. as the ClipMate Icon in your Startup group (if you put it there).
  139.  
  140. Please note that no changes were made to your WIN.INI, System.INI,
  141. or any other Windows system files.  There are no hidden files.

  153. Norton Desktop for Windows users should upgrade to Norton Desktop 
  154. version 2.0.  
  155. Version 2.0 will work, if you make this change:
  156.   To make ClipMate (and most other programs compiled with a Borland
  157.   compiler) compatible with NDW v 2.0: make a change to the NDW.INI
  158.   file, which is found in the Windows directory.
  159.   In the [NHookSettings] section of NDW.INI, set Int21hHook=0.
  160.   Like this:

  163. There is sometimes a problem in conveting a clipmate data file from
  164. previous releases.  If you run into a General Protection Fault when
  165. converting an old file, you will need to delete, or rename the
  166. file.  If possible, send it to us, so that we can see what is
  167. causing the problem.

  173.  - Fixed "Error Opening Clipboard" problem with 32-bit apps under Windows 95.
  174.    (apps like Office 95, and Microsoft Network)
  175.  - Rich Text Format is now selected by default, when copying from OLE32 applications,
  176.    even if TEXT isn't present.  This is particularly useful with MSN shortcuts.
  177.  - Fixed problem with .WMF serial numbers wrapping incorrectly when larger than 32768
  178.    (probably wouldn't happen in real life).

  180.  - File Commands "Save As" and "New" didn't properly name the new file being
  181.    created.  Didn't affect users who use "default.clm" for everything (most users).

  183.  - For new installations, the default file name was incorrectly determined.
  184.    It should have been: "default.clm".  Instead, it was "untitled.clm".
  185.  - If you had a data file with a name other than "default.clm", ClipMate

  191.  - Fixed bug with WordPerfect 6.0 - it wasn't picking the correct filter. i.e.

  193.  - Fixed Windows 95 problem which caused the filter file (clipfltr.ini) to
  194.    contain garbage.  (Due to this fix, your old filter file will be deleted).
  195.  - Fixed Filter problem that caused long format names to be truncated.

  197.  - AutoSave - Optional file save every x minutes.
  198.  - Fixed problem with Magnification Window, where the default display format was TEXT,
  199.    even if the text was blank.  (but PICTURE was present)

  206.  - Fixed problem with date wrapping around end of year incorrectly,
  207.    which caused the Shareware Registration Reminder (NAG) screen
